June 1st-7th daily create
#tdc1381 Everybody dance!
This Daily Create asked us to share a video of you dancing or making up a dance, and I chose to include this video of my best friend and I. We made this dance during a hangout we had with a few friends, and this video is a good representation of us because we are often in our own world. We like to make up random dances whenever we hangout no matter where we are.
This Daily Create highlights how multimedia can capture experiences and memories that would be difficult to communicate just by text. The movement, and overall context of the dance are communicated visually through the video. This activity also relates to dual coding theory because viewers process both the visual information from the dance movements and the words that come from the song. Overall, I think this was a perfect video for this daily create.
#tdc2078 What was your Defining Moment?
For this daily create we were asked to show a video of our defining moment. I chose this video I took moments after I had just graduated. I think this was one of my defining moments because every emotion was hitting me at once. In that moment I realized that I was about to start a whole new chapter, move away from home, leave my friends behind and actually start being an adult.
This connects to multimedia because the video combines movement, emotion, and real-life interaction to communicate the experience in a stronger way than words alone could. Seeing my best friend and I run toward each other and hug helps viewers understand the excitement, relief, and emotion of graduation visually and emotionally. It also relates to the multimedia principle because the visuals and the meaning behind the moment work together to create a deeper understanding of why this memory was so important to me.
#tdc1767 Catch Your Sunset in a Video
This daily create is self explanatory, we were asked to post a video of a sunset we had sitting around in our camera roll. I chose this video I took while I was in Hawaii. Capturing a video of a sunset connects to multimedia because it combines visual elements such as color, lighting, movement, and scenery to create meaning and emotion. Unlike a still image, a video can also capture changing light, moving clouds, waves, wind, or sound, making the experience feel more realistic for the viewer.
